There are many opportunities for you to become involved with the LSS and the services that we provide for our members.
Written contributions in the way of high quality journal articles are actively sought by the publications team to be included in the various publications published by the LSS throughout the year. Our publications include: The Full Bench and The Alternate Law Handbook (Camp Book) - organised by Mitchell Hillier - Publications Officer ; The Clerkship Guide, The Careers Guide and the Law Electives Guide - organised by Emma Earley- Careers (Publications) Officer ; and Fortnightly Newsletter (The Buzz) - organised by Jerome Doraisamy - Marketing Officer
Getting involved as either a competitor, time-keeper, witness or client with one of the five legal competitions that the LSS runs each semester can be a fun way to meet new people and hone your legal skills. Senior Competitions, for those with more experience, take place in Autumn Semester while Junior Competitions, for those with little to no experience, take place during Spring Semester. For more information click on the Competitions tab or contact the following :
* For Client Interviewing and Negotiaton, Amy Maguire - Competitions (Professional Skills) Officer
* For Witness Examination and Mooting, Jonathan Ballo - Competitions (Advocacy) Officer
* For Paper Presentation and Subject Moots, Josh Kelly - Competitions (Intervarsity) Officer
If you are interested in becoming a LSS Councillor, elections are held in second semester: download the Elections Handbook for detailed information about the election process and the positions on the LSS Council. Alternatively, feel free to drop by our office (5B.01.03) and volunteer your services - we can always use an extra brain. More info about elections can be found here.
Finally, keep a look out for information on the notice board near the LSS office for announcements on competitions, publications and other ways to become involved with the LSS.
