ALSA July Conference

What is ALSA?

The UTS Law Students' Society is a member of the Australian Law Students' Association (ALSA), the peak representative body for law students in Australia. Every year in July, the ALSA Committee host a Conference at which up to 500 law students from Australia, New Zealand and Singapore converge for a week of legal competitions, educational seminars, gala dinners and an array of social events.

2011 July ALSA Conference:

The 2011 July ALSA Conference was held in Sydney, and hosted by the University of New South Wales. The LSS selected a delegation of up to 25 students to represent UTS, made up of:

1. ALSA Councillors;

2. Competitors; and

3. General Delegates.

These students represented UTS to the best of their ability; were reflective of the entire student body and the values and ideals that both UTS and the LSS espouse.

In 2011, UTS was represented on the ALSA Council by Codie Asimus and Jerome Doraisamy. UTS Competitors were selected based on the results of the Senior Competitions, held in Autumn Semester 2011. General Delegates were selected by application.
