Speaker Series

What is the Speaker Series, you say? The Speaker Series initiative, which was launched in 2011, entails a number of legal educational seminars at which we invite prominent figures in the legal industry to partake in a discussion panel, debate, or keynote address at which a legal issue of social, cultural or political relevance is discussed.

The event is an opportunity to broaden your legal educational experience at UTS, allowing you to liaise with prominent legal professional fundamental to assisting, campaigning and advocating the most relevant discrimination issues within Australia. In addition to mingling with our distinguished panellists before and after the event, you will have the opportunity to liaise with a variety of associates, partners and HR representatives from some of the leading law firms in Sydney.

Your registration for and attendance at a Speaker Series event will be creditable towards the Brennan Justice and Leadership Program. The Speaker Series initiative is fundamental to the strengthening of one's consciousness to notions of social justice, idealism, and the realisation that, as law students and lawyers, we have a duty and responsibility to society.

Our panellists will answer questions from the audience and as such, we encourage all attendees to ask questions of the panel; there will be an allocated time slot for Q&A from the audience after any of our events and we hope to answer any of your thought provoking questions.

For more information about the speakers and/or the event, or if you would like to suggest a justice topic or question to be asked of the panel, please email Patrick Delaney at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
