In preparation for the commencement of your studies at university, the UTS Law Students’ Society would like to cordially invite you to our annual Orientation Camp (“O’Camp 2010”), a two-and-a-half day experience tailored specifically for first year law students studying at UTS to take place from 22 to 24 February 2010. University can be rather daunting as a new student. O’Camp 2010 provides you with an opportunity to meet and engage the students and academics you will be studying with and learning from over the next four to five years.

O’Camp 2010 is designed to assist you in your transition into University: imparting invaluable insight into how best to find your feet at law school and generally get a taste of what university will be like before the start of the academic year - we’ll cover: study and learning techniques specific to the law; a vast array of extra-curricular activities available to you at UTS such as Witness Examination, Negotiation, Client Interviewing and Mooting; the locations of key dumpling houses and other crucial eateries around Haymarket; and most importantly O’Camp 2010 will allow you to make friends in a relaxed, convivial environment.

O’Camp 2010 will be held at a secret location approximately 25 - 30 minutes by car from the centre of Sydney’s CBD. All students will be meeting at 9:00 am, 22 February 2010 at the corner of Ultimo Road & Darling Drive, Haymarket, just outside the Union Markets Bar in order to be transported by bus to the secret
location at 9:30 am. This year we have plenty of fantastic activities planned for you, including legal competitions, a beach trip should the weather permit and a Toga Party on the last evening of camp - so be sure to pack appropriate drapery as there will be prizes for the best dressed on the night!

Date: 22 - 24 February 2010 (We will be dropping you back at UTS in time for O’Day on 24 February 2010)
Meeting Time & Location: 9:00 am at the Cnr of Ultimo Rd & Darling Dr, Haymarket.
Cost: $100 per person (incl. all transport, meals, accommodation & activities)

Registration: Complete both the Registration form and Medical form (http://datasearch.uts.edu.au/law/news-events/events-detail.cfm?ItemId=19173 - under the 'Registration' heading) and send to the UTS Law Students’ Society (details on form) before 13 Feburary 2010 - Places are limited!
